Breaking News - Minnesota Wild trade Kevin Fiala for a MASSIVE return
The Minnesota Wild are currently in salary cap hell. With over $14,000,000 in dead cap space, due to the buyouts of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. That left Wild General Manager, Bill Guerin with very few choices when it came to roster management.
Since their season ended their were multiple rumours that Fiala would likely be the first cap casualty and that's exactly what's happened. According to Michael Russo, the Wild have traded Kevin Fiala to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 1st round pick and former 2nd round pick, Brock Faber.
According to sources, the #mnwild have traded the rights to pending restricted free agent Kevin Fiala to the #lakings for their 2022 first-round pick and University of Minnesota captain Brock Faber
Faber was one of the Kings top 5 prospects and gives the Wild an NHL ready defenseman they can get into the lineup immediately. The Kings will now have 2 weeks to exclusively negotiate with Fiala before he becomes eligible to receive an offer sheet.
This deal will also give the Wild the 19th overall pick in this summer's draft.
