The Colorado Avalanche were the last team standing at the end of the Stanley Cup playoffs. With the NHL playoffs being the most grueling tournament in sports, it's rare for a player to make it out without some form of injury.
Peter Baugh of The Athletic revealed that Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin played through the Stanley Cup final with a serious foot injury.
Nichushkin was unable to put his skate on without medical assistance.
Nichushkin wasn't expected to play in game six but with some medical intervention, he ultimately decided to play. Nichushkin who played through obvious pain was able to log 23-minutes of ice time.
Today Nichushkin shared a photo of his most recent x-ray to this Instagram account and Jr shows just how much damage had been caused.
Nichushkin who is an unrestricted free agent is definitely looking at a massive payday this summer.
