It has been a long time coming, but the Ottawa Senators have announced something major for their franchise. The Senators announced that they have reached an agreement with the National Capital Commission for the development of the Lebreton Flats downtown area.
According to Postmedia Bruce Garrioch, this is to be believed to be the last act of the late Eugene Melnyk to sign off on the project and application for the Lebreton Flats project. This will definitely make the Ottawa Senators more accessible and bring some much needed sports attraction to the Nation's Capital.
The City of Ottawa has worked hard to make downtown Ottawa more accessible with their light rail system and the continued growth of this project should allow the Senators a better opportunity to be more competitive with other markets.
