Breaking News - Philadelphia Flyers make shocking decision about the future of Tony DeAngelo
It had been rumored for weeks that Tony DeAngelo would be traded to the Carolina Hurricanes. It was reported that the deal was on the fritz, but teams were still working towards a solution. Today however, it's been confirmed that deal won't be happening.
Today the Flyers made the surprising announcement that they'd placed DeAngelo on waivers for purposes of terminating his contract.
Some clarity here: Philadelphia put Tony DeAngelo on waivers to buy out his contract. It is not a termination. So, assuming he clears tomorrow, DeAngelo will be a free agent.
It is expected that DeAngelo will clear and be bought out tomorrow.
