Breaking News - Toronto Maple Leafs re-sign Mark Giordano to the perfect contract
The Toronto Maple Leafs added Mark Giordano as a veteran presence at the trade deadline. Unfortunately for the Leafs the move did net them a first round victory like they'd hoped, but Giordano didn't look out of place. During his brief time with the Leafs, Gio also brought out the best in Leafs' rookie, Timothy Liljegren.
It was immediately shared that the Leafs had major interest in re-signing Giordano. Today the Leafs announced they'd signed Gio to a contract extension.
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has signed defenceman Mark Giordano to a two-year contract extension. The average annual value of the contract is $800,000.
This 2-year deal should help the Maple Leafs solidify their back end going forward.
