Breaking News - Vancouver Canucks sign rookie forward to an 11 million dollar deal
Things in Vancouver have not gone well for the Canucks this season. The team playoff aspirations to begin the year, but those quickly deteriorated. Now the team is just trying to save face with the fan base after a very public firing of coach Bruce Boudreau, went very wrong.
Today though the Canucks announced the signing of Andrei Kuzmenko to a 2-year contract worth a total of 11 million dollars. The deal will pay him an annual cap head of 5.5 million per season.
Kuzmenko is on his first NHL season, in 47 games he has 21 goals and 22 assists for 43 points. This signing will keep Kuzmenko in Vancouver for 2 more seasons and comes with a 12 team no trade list. Although he provides a small sample size, this move makes some sense for the Canucks who will likely be forced to deal multiple players at the trade deadline..
