It's been nearly a year since the Vancouver Canucks decided to relieve Bruce Boudreau of his duties as head coach and now he's finally found his way back behind the bench.

On Friday, Hockey Canada announced their coaching staff for the 2023 Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland.

"Coaches are set for the #SpenglerCup! 🍁

Voici nos entraîneurs pour la #CoupeSpengler! 🍁

HC/EC: Bruce Boudreau
AC/EA: Larry Mitchell
AC/EA: Jim Playfair
AC/EA: Jeff Tomlinson"

After a disappointing tournament last December, where they lost all three of their games, including in the semi-finals against Swedish club Orebro HK, co-general managers Brad Pascall and Joe Thornton are hoping Boudreau and his staff can lead Canada to a championship.

"We are excited to name Bruce, Larry, Jim and Jeff as the coaches who will lead Canada's National Men's Team as it looks to reclaim the Spengler Cup. All four bring many years of experience coaching in the NHL, AHL and Europe, and we know this diversity will be beneficial to our team," Pascall said. "We know all four coaches and our support staff are grateful for the opportunity to represent Canada at such a prestigious tournament, and this group is determined to assemble a team that gives us the best chance to bring home a championship."

Team Canada is set to open the 2023 Spengler Cup on Boxing Day against the hosts, HC Davos, on TSN at 2:15 p.m. ET.
