Buffalo Sabres defender ejected after dropping Devils star with a huge hit
Games between the Buffalo Sabres and New Jersey Devils haven't exactly been high intensity over the last couple of years. With both teams struggling the games between the two have been quite relaxed. However this season both teams have high hopes and are looking to compete for the Stanley Cup.
With those high expectations come a more physical game and higher intensity. In the 1st period if tonight's game Connor Clifton ratcheted up the intensity when he delivered a HUGE hit to Nick Hischier.
The hit by Clifford sent Hischier to the ice and his teammate Ondrej Palat immediately came to his aid dropping the gloves with Clifton. After review Clifton was awarded a match penalty for an illegal check to the head and a major for fighting.
To make matters worse a large contingent of Clifton's Family is in attendance tonight.
