Canadian born Hockey Player Tragically Passes away at 33-years-old
A hockey player from Great Britain ice Mike Hammond has been killed in a car accident.
The crash happened in Shawnigan British Columbia.
The Panthers confirmed his death in a statement on their website, saying the club was "devastated" and sending condolences to his family.
"Our thoughts too are with all his former team-mates and everyone at the club is thinking of Hammy and his family right now."
"Rest in peace Mike - you will never be forgotten."
The 33 year old played for Great Britain at the 2019 IIHF World Championship and the 2021 IIHF World Championship, began his career in 2015 and went on to play for nine ice hockey teams before joining the Nottingham Panthers in August 2022.
