Former Vancouver Canucks staff member Rachel Doerrie was a guest on the 'Sekeres & Price' show on Friday and shared an interesting tidbit regarding Tyler Myers and his bonus.

Doerrie said that the Canucks have paid Myers his bonus a couple months in advance of when it's supposed to be handed out on September 1st.

"I think Tyler Myers is going to get dealt...I believe that bonus was paid this week, based on the info I have. If it hasn't...the #Canucks can opt to pay it early so they can facilitate a trade. That is an option." Doerrie said.

There's no question that paying his bonus early would help facilitate a trade, but according to David Quadrelli, a writer for CanucksArmy, the team has not given Myers his bonus early as it would be deemed as cap circumvention.

Told the #Canucks have not and will not be paying his bonus early as it would he deemed to be circumventing the salary cap by the NHL." Quadrelli said.

The Canucks have reportedly been trying to trade Tyler Myers for a little while now. Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff reported that the Canucks had a deal in place to send Myers to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Kevin Labanc.

Myers, 33, has one year remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $6 million and a modified no-trade clause that includes a ten-team no-trade list.
