Canucks rumoured trade chip suffers injury at the World Championships
Oliver Ekman-Larsson is one of the few veteran players currently at the IIHF World Hockey Championships. With the tournament being played in Finland, it allowed more of the veteran European players a chance to stay active.
Unfortunately for OEL the opportunity to play some additional hockey is going to cost him 4-6 weeks of training this summer. The Canucks made the following announcement:
Oliver Ekman-Larsson suffered a foot fracture during the IIHF World Championship. The timeline for his recovery is 4-6 weeks.
Rumours had circulated the Canucks could look to move OEL this summer, so it will be interesting to see if this injury has an impact in that decision.
