Late in the third period last night with the Rangers defending a sound three goal lead, Carolina Hurricanes' defenceman, and former New York Ranger, Tony DeAngelo lobbed a puck into the net long after an offside whistle.

DeAngelo has some significant hatred from the New York Rangers and their fans. He's a solid player, but with allegations of racism and political infighting with his teammates, the Rangers bought out his contract last offseason.

Since then, he's gone on to have an amazing season in Carolina with 51 points in 64 games this year, as well as 9 in the current playoff run.

Stirring the pot here by flicking the puck into the net well after the offside whistle, DeAngelo reminds the Rangers why the fans boo him whenever he touches the puck - he's a player that gets under your skin. DeAngelo and Trouba had a skirmish after the play where offsetting minors were assessed, including an unsportsmanlike penalty for DeAngelo.

With the Rangers handedly defeating the Hurricanes 5-2 last night, the series will be forced to go to seven games. We'll see if DeAngelo can move the needle with these mind games at all in a winner-take-all game on Monday night.
