Carey Price's confession leads many to believe his career is over
The Montreal Canadiens have had one of worst years in team history, they were the first team to be eliminated from playoff contention and the first team to finish 32nd in the league with the addition of the Seattle Kraken this summer. The sadness might not be done there for Canadiens fans.
Goaltender Carey Price, a pillar in Montreal since he was drafted in 2007, who sat out almost the entirety of the 2021-22 National Hockey League season due to mental health struggles (except 5 games) is now dealing with a knee injury that could put his career in jeopardy
Selfishly, I hope Price can return to play. A changing of the guard is happening in the NHL and the generation of players I grew up with is retiring. In the end though, I hope he does what's best for him and his family.
If this is indeed the end for Price at 34, he finishes his 15-year career all spent with the Canadiens franchise with a 361-2611-79 record with 49 shutouts, a .917 save-percentage and a 2.51 goals against in 712 games with Montreal.
At the end of the day, the NHL wouldn't be the same without Carey Price.
