The Chicago Blackhawks are hosting ghd Vegas Golden Knights at the United Center tonight, not even through the first period, things are no doubt getting a little testy between the two sides.
Chicago forward Jason Dickinson hits Golden Knights forward Chandler Stephenson from behind as he was digging for the loose puck, effectively burying him into the boards.
Dickinson was assessed a two minute boarding penalty on the play and it looks as if Stephenson is going to be alright as he got to one knee without too much trouble
While the hit ended up not being so bad, this is the kind of thing the National Hockey League has said they want to get rid of for some time. If you can see an opposing players numbers, maybe don't decide to make the hit.
Dickinson, historically has never really been a dirty player, but that doesn't mean he should make a habit of laying questionable hits on guys who don't see it coming.
A two minute call was the right one to make on this particular play.
