Minor hockey so one of those things that people take too far more often then not. Especially it seems, if the kids are younger the more heated the adults, whether it be parents or coaches get.

In Kalamazoo, Michigan during a u-12 hockey game, a player was trying to exit the zone and was hauled down by the coach of the opposing team, take a look.

I don't care who you are or what the situation is, you never reach over the boards and touch a child while they're playing a game, much less haul them down for seemingly no reason at all.

The child's father is ECHL hall of famer Joel Martin, which should garner dons attention to at least make this adult answer for his actions.

I don't know why parents and coaches of a minor hockey program take the game so seriously. At the age, you're there to learn the rules of the game and as a coach on either side, your job should be to foster the love of the game. That's it. Not actively try to get involved.

This coach should not be allowed to coach children again. End of story. People need realize what they're doing, stop and maybe, I don't know, not do it.

Actions like this are completely unacceptable and something needs to be done.
