College prep hockey team injured after team bus is struck by a drunk driver in a semi-truck
The hockey world was rocked when the Humboldt Broncos bus was struck by a semi-truck. The accident shook the hockey world and anyone who could relate with a traveling sports team. Unfortunately last night a Chicago based College Prep team was involved in a similar accident.
According to Warsaw Police 16 people, including members of the Chicago's St. Ignatius College Prep hockey team were injured. The bus was struck by a semi truck on Saturday evening.
The bus was on its way home from a local restaurant when the accident occurred. According to police at least one person was ejected from the bus and three people are currently in critical condition. Family members are currently with the injured students at the hospital.
The police issued the following update:
Police believe alcohol was a factor in the collision and arrested the semi driver. They said he was swerving and speeding before the crash.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those involved.
