Darryl Sutter calling out the officiating, even before the Flames first Playoff Game
Calgary Flames Head Coach Darryl Sutter met with the media for morning availability and dropped an interesting quote critiquing the amount of penalties called last night.
Last night, there was 37 power-plays. That's a third more than the regular season. So it wasn't called the way it was in the regular season, very clear. There were a lot of penalties that you had to watch the replay to see what the penalty was.
From the games I watched Sutter might not be too far off on his take. There were a few penalty calls where I had to really watch the replay a few times. It will be interesting to see if the officials let Sutter's pre game remarks effect the way they call the game.
