Detroit Red Wings defender shaken up after getting caught on the trolley tracks
The Detroit Red Wings are hosting the Calgary Flames tonight, a game where both teams desperately need points to keep their playoff chances alive.
Red Wings defenceman Jake Walman was on the receiving end of a solid bodycheck by Flames defencman Nikita Zadorov.
He remained on the ice in pain for several moments before being attended to by team trainer Piet Van Zandt, and needed assistance to make his way to the dressing room.
It appeared to be a clean hit with no contact to the head. It's unfortunate that Walman was injured on the play. Hopefully he was just shaken up and can return.
The 6'6 248 pound monster of a man Zadorov is never afraid to lay the body using his frame as one of his many attributes. He ranks 51st in the league in hits on the season with 114.
Walman managed to return for the start of the 2nd period.
