New footage from the fun-sized Arizona State University arena was released by the Sun Devils' today, with whom the Coyotes will be sharing the ice with.
Allegedly the capacity for fans will be around 5,000 people, but it's hard to imagine half of that to fit into the stands by the looks of this video. Really, this rink looks more comparable to the Ontario Minor Hockey League than the NHL.
Multiple grievances have been aired about the move to the ASU arena, from the owners, NHLPA, and the Coyotes' players themselves. However, no party has the power to stop the Coyotes' ownership from making the move.
For the future, the team is looking to secure a deal to relocate to Tempe with a proposed new multi-sport complex. To this point however, reports out of Tempe suggest that city council is not keen on accepting the move.
The Coyotes may well end up playing more than a few seasons in an arena with a fraction of the capacity of any other team's facilities.
