Evander Kane jumps Nikita Kucherov after he gets checked from behind
Earlier this season Evander Kane suffered a gruesome injury after Pat Maroon's skate made contact with his wrist. Kane suffered a laceration to his wrist, which severed his nerves and tendons. Kane underwent emergency surgery and was surprisingly able to return to the lineup ahead of schedule earlier this week.
In only his second game back, and facing off against those same Tampa Bay Lightning, Kane very nearly was injured again. During the 1st period, Kane is as a victim of a hit from behind by Nikita Kucherov. After the hit Kane immediately jumped on Kucherov, before everyone got involved.
Somehow on the play Kucherov didn't end up with a penalty on the play, while Kane received a double minor.
