Evander Kane was limited to just 41 games with the Edmonton Oilers last season after a very gruesome injury In which he had his wrist cut, forcing him to miss half the Oilers season. Not only that, but no one really knew if his wrist and hand would function the same way again, but with a new season around the corner, it appears we have an update.
According to Oilersnation.com, Kane who has been practicing was able to provide an update, focusing on his wrist heading into the new season; take a look.
There's still some numbness and all, but I have full mobility. I feel good on the ice
Although Kane is dealing with a little bit of numbness, the fact that he has full range of motion and is able to feel good while on the ice is an amazing sign. After an injury as severe as his, to be able to return the ice is nothing, but amazing.
Kane, 32, in those 41 games played with the Oilers last season was having a decent season, scoring 16 goals and adding 12 assists for 28 points while being a key top 6 forward.
It sounds like Kane will be ready to go for training camp and although he might need a little more time to heal, having him back in the lineup for the upcoming season will only help the Oilers.
