Chuck Fletcher - Philadelphia Flyers
Chuck Fletcher continuing his skill of sandbagging teams in cap, left the Minnesota Wild in disarray. As of right now, the Philadelphia Flyers are $2 million over cap currently, and where to begin? Fletcher traded away assets, for a defenseman in Tony DeAngelo who isn't good enough to push the Flyers into contention, and refused to clear space for Johnny Gaudreau, who wanted to be there!
That alone, makes me think this is his season to win or get fired.
Lou Lamoriello - New York Islanders
Lou Lamoriello had an awful offseason. Lou infamously did nothing this off-season is a sure candidate. Passing on Johnny Gaudreau, and Sonny Milano and completing bare minimum signings is enough to do it.
Firing Barry Trotz was the beginning of the end, I'm not sure Lane Lambert can save this aging roster either. It's safe to say, that like Don Cherry, the game has passed Lou by.
Kevin Cheveldayoff - Winnipeg Jets
Kevin Cheveldayoff has kept the Winnipeg Jets off of players' places to land as the Jets have had a lackluster time during his tenure. Even after acquiring Pierre-Luc Dubois, he has failed to acquire the pieces to build a winner, after ten years in Winnipeg.
Jim Nill - Dallas Stars
Jim Nill has brought in Rick Bowness, after firing Jim Montgomery, let star rookies such as Jake Oettinger sit too long before getting signed, and has propelled the Stars into mediocrity.
Choosing Peter DeBoer was also suspect, as DeBoer has been coasting off of his time in the Sharks organization. Needless to say, it'll be interesting to see where he lands if he gets let go.
Kyle Dubas - Toronto Maple Leafs
Lastly, we have Kyle Dubas who may not deserve to be on the hot-seat, considering his team put up a great fight against the Tampa Bay Lightning. If this roster as it is constructed can't, you can't help but have questions about the next steps for him.
The key part is for Dubas to win a round, despite rostering one of the best teams in the NHL. Dubas has bet his job on Matt Murray and Ilya Samsonov having a bounce back season. If the goalies fail Dubas than it's likely he will be searching for a new job.
