Flyers furious with Capitals usage of Ovechkin, Tom Wilson hilariously responds
Alexander Ovechkin is easily the best goal scorer of the modern era in the National Hockey League. He's 3rd all time in the NHL goals list, and may have a legitimate shot of dethroning the Great One before long. And it appears that may be a point of contention for some teams.
Things got heated last night between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Washington Capitals, and the boiling point seemed to be when the Caps were on the power play late in the game, Washington decided to ice a power play of 3rd and 4th liners the one catch? Ovi stayed out for the entire power play.
The Flyers were none too happy about this and as they were giving Washington an ear full, Tom Wilson skated by their bench and shouted:
How else is he supposed to catch Gretzky?
OPINION: I see nothing wrong with this and think that Tom Wilson was actually trying to find some levity in the situation rather than escalate, although, he's a tough guy, so who knows.
