The National Hockey League's trade deadline can be one of the crazier days of the year as teams are either gearing up for what hopefully is a long playoff, selling major parts of their team, or somewhere in between. The Vancouver Canucks are one of those teams that appear to be in the middle, on the outside of the playoff right now, but one that could potentially go on a run and make the playoffs before the regular season is over.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston, the Canucks are most likely to try and move Brock Boeser before others like Connor Garland and J .T Miller:
The reason? Boeser is on an expiring deal and might be easier to move then both Garland and Miller because of the term left on their respective contracts.
Boeser, 25, who was an all-star in 2018 has a respectable 16 goals and 17 assists for 33 points in 51 games this season with the Canucks. If he were to get dealt at the deadline, the team that trades for him adds an immediate offensive threat to their lineup. The question is, will the Canucks move on from Boeser this year? We'll find out in a little over a week.
The NHL's trade deadline takes place on March 21st, let the madness begin!
