Former NHL journalist calls Ovechkin a coward, accuses Ovi of black-listing him
Alex Ovechkin has been in the news for the last 36 hours, really through no fault of his own, but that continues as Russia proceeds with their invasion into the Ukraine.
Today, though, a former NHL employee and journalist has shared his opinion on Ovechkin, and he's also shared allegations that Ovechkin black-balled him from the NHL. Reporter Slava Malamud, started yesterday off with the following tweet about Ovechkin:

Malamud didn't stop there as he chose to dig into Ovechkin's past even further:
Ovechkin is a despicable person and a coward. He was basking in his adulation of Putin when he knew he could hide behind @CapitalsPR, his guard dog @SergeyKocharov and stock phrases about "I am not politic" It was safe then. Now, when I am no longer the only one asking, he hides.
They are frantically writing more non-answers for him. They are thinking up excuses. They will want you believe that his family is held hostage. Nobody held his family when he fronted Putin's campaign. Nobody forced him to support the 2014 invasion. It's all lies. Everything.

I've been screaming about this for 8 years. I've been urging Western media to take a look at Ovechkin and the damage he has done.

This could simply be a case of a former employee who has been scorned trying to do as much harm as possible, but unfortunately during this time of turmoil many are going to listen to the loudest voice in the room.
