Goalie goal alert - Goalie scores the first goaltender goal in team history
On Saturday night with the Maine Mariners leading 4-2, goaltender Francois Brassard's eyes lit up when he saw an opportunity every goalie dreams of. His team up by 2, the other net empty and an open lane down the middle. He couldn't have wrote the script any better had he tried.
As the puck is dumped in it bounces towards the goal and Brassard picks it up. Just as quickly Brassard flicks his wrists and sends the puck 200 feet down the ice. The puck sailed down the ice and directly into the empty net for his team's 5th goal of the game.
Brassard celebrated as anyone would, eventually taking a twirl down the bench and getting fist bumps from all his teammates.
