High school player facing charges after kicking opponent multiple times with his skate
A high school hockey player is facing charges after a violent kicking incident during a high school hockey game in Littleton, Colorado. As can be seen by the video the player in black loses his temper and kicks the player in white multiple times while he's on the ice. Finally a player from the white team manages to tackle the player before he inflicts even more damage.
This photo was captured on in arena video cameras.
A parent in the comments provided the following update on the incident involving his son:
That's my son. The one on the ice. He is fine, 1 kick to the body & one glanced off his head. the other team was pissed as my son spent 2 mins as the only D on the ice killing a 5-3 penalty (bench minors) for his HS JV team. And yes the police were involved, charges filed.
While i agree some punishment is warranted, let's remember this is a kid. He made a bad decision doesn't mean he is a lifelong criminal.
This parent is far more reasonable than I would be in this situation, but it is good to hear that the victim did not suffer significant injuries. Hopefully this player can receive the anger management he so clearly deserves.
