The World Junior Hockey Championships ended with Team Canada draped in gold after defeating Team Finland 3-2 in overtime. Unfortunately the tournament wasn't all good news especially if you're an Ottawa Senators fan. During a game against the Suisse Ottawa Senators prospect Ridly Greig suffered an injury that kept him out of the rest of the tournament.
Today it was revealed just how long the top prospect would miss. According to the Senators, Greig is expected to miss three-to-four weeks with a separated shoulder.
Senators General Manager, Pierre Dorion told Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch that Greig will likely miss the rookie tournament, but remains hopeful that Greig could be ready for the preseason.
The 20-year-old prospect was forced to watch the remainder of the tournament after sustaining an injury on a check from Team Switzerland's, Vincent Despont in Team Canada's 6-3 win in the quarter-final.
