In Toronto Maple Leafs news, not surprising to anyone, they're up against the salary cap. It looks like part of the "Core 4" may become a casualty because of Kyle Dubas' workings and it may claim another casualty before it's all said and done.

Jake Muzzin, a former member of the L.A. Kings Cup winning team, was brought over to the Leafs in 2018 in a trade for Carl Grundstrom, the rights to Sean Durzi, and the 22nd 1st round pick, who'd end up becoming Tobias Bjornfot. However, in my opinion, the Maple Leafs' won that trade.

With the Toronto, the defense isn't 100% sound, but it sounds like they will be moving on from someone and it might end up being, Jake Muzzin.

If you remember, it was Muzzin who after slotting back into the lineup after an undisclosed injury opened up the scoring on the Lightning. Limited to 45 games this year, he still made an impact in the post-season with 2 goals, 1 assist for 3 points, and a +4 on ice.

Chris Johnston, on the Steve Dangle Podcast, expressed how much the Maple Leafs' management loves the guy's impact in the room, and removing him would be moving the team's conscience. However, Johnston expressed the injuries and cap hit being an issue, despite his tenure there they're not 100% set on him staying.
