Insider reveals what Cam Talbot's agent asked Bill Guerin for that pissed Guerin off so much
A few days ago, it was reported that Minnesota Wild Goaltender Cam Talbot's camp and Wild General Manager Bill Guerin were at odds, seemingly over a would be trade request. It seemed as Talbot felt he was no longer welcome with the re-signing of future hall of fame goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury. That however, does not appear to be the case.
According to The Athletic's Michael Russo, the conversion between Guerin and Talbot's agent on the draft floor although heated, was not about a trade request, it was actually because he wanted a raise and an extension.
The back and forth between Guerin and Talbot's camp seemed to be a little bit more hearted then the two sides wanting to come together on a new contract. But with the Wild in a cap strapped situation, trying to be bullied into an extension was never going to go well.
Both Guerin and Talbot's agent were going in on one another and not pulling any punches regarding their feelings. If this was indeed extension talks, this is the most odd way of negotiating I've ever seen.
