Nazem Kadri has had himself an amazing year. He won a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche and then cashed in on a massive payday with the Calgary Flame. Kadri was one of the most coveted free agents this summer and had nearly half the league calling for a conversation.

Kadri also reportedly had multiple contract offers that he was able to choose from before ultimately choosing Calgary. Yesterday, NHL Insider, Pierre LeBrun revealed some of the other teams that offered Kadri a deal.

Pierre LeBrun reported earlier in the summer that Kadri had turned down a six-year contract with an annual average value of $8.5 million. His father, Sam, revealed that the Islanders, Rangers and Blue Jackets were among the teams that showed interest in his son.

Kadri turned down contract offers from the New York Rangers, Columbus Blue Jackets, and New York Islanders to play in Calgary. It goes to show, Kadri was able to get paid and move to a team ready to win with his final decision.

The 80+ point player turned down $8.5 million AAV over 6 years, with these teams for a long-term contract and the possibility of winning now.

It could be argued that passing up an offer from the New York Rangers is foolish as they had the same ceiling as Calgary last year, reaching the 2nd round and knowing he nixed a trade to the Flames earlier in his career.
