Video of 11-year-old Mitch Marner getting ripped by his father goes viral
There has been a lot of talk recently about Mitch Marner and his attitude. Some Leafs' fans have begun to associate Mitch's current frustrations with his urge to have Head Coach, Sheldon Keefe replaced. During a Sunday night game Marner threw a temper tantrum down the Maple Leafs tunnel after being benched.
Now a video has resurfaced of Paul Marner, Mitch's father, ripping his 11-year-old son apart during his hockey days. It's clear by the video Paul is one of the absolute worst kind of hockey parents as he's overheard telling his son:
You better get fucking skating Mitch, I swear to god.
The video continues to the car ride home where Paul continues to give his son a hard time after the loss. When Marner tells his father he's just going to tell his mom the team lost, Paul replies:
Just another game, eh Mitch? One of maybe a couple hundred you'll play.
Amid the countless reports that the Maple Leafs work to keep Marner in a positive head space, videos like this make it easy to realize why the pragmatic forward is so hard on himself. If any hockey parent is wondering what not to do, this should be a guide.
