Jan Ruttu and Nick Cousins drop the gloves at center for a solid tilt
The Nashville Predators and Tampa Bay Lightning faced off today for an afternoon tilt. The two teams only face off twice a season, so there isn't much expectation for physical play. But the game today was just that, physical.
Today's game produced 10 minor penalties in the first two periods alone. In the 3rd period Jan Ruttu and Nick Cousins decided to pair off at center ice for a solid tilt.
Both men were awarded 5-minute majors on the play. The Lightning went on to win the game 6-2 to give them some breathing room ahead of the Boston Bruins in the race for 3rd in the Atlantic.
