The Colorado Avalanche absolutely brutalized the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-0 to take a 2-0 series lead. The mood in the Tampa Bay locker room was somber after the game to say the least. When coach Jon Cooper was asked about the game, he gave an honest review.

We lost by a lot tonight. You're better just throwing this one away.

Cooper is going to burn the tapes from Game 2, but burning the tapes isn't going to do the Lightning any good if they can't find a way to play at altitude. Because there was absolutely nothing the Lightning did right on Saturday. Captain Steven Stamkos had a similar sentiment about the game.

That's totally not acceptable at this time

Stamkos agreed that game was terrible on all fronts. But the Lightning have been bad on the road all playoffs long. They also went down 2-0 to the New York Rangers. You're never truly out of the series until you lose a game at home. Game 3 can only be more competitive than Game 2 was.
