For those who enjoy a mix of pro wrestling and hockey, there is currently a collision between these two worlds after Darren McCarty, a four-time Stanley Cup champion, appeared in the audience at Impact Wrestling and was provoked by Bully Ray (formerly known as Bubba Ray Dudley). After having a drink thrown at him, McCarty decided to jump in the ring. He'd get put through a table for his efforts.
After video of the incident started taking off online, Bully Ray used Twitter to express his disdain for hockey players, labeling them as 'fake tough guys.'
Another ex-NHL enforcer has joined the conversation and this could potentially result in another clash between wrestlers and hockey tough guys in the ring. Georges Laraque, who earned his NHL reputation with his fighting skills, confronted Bully Ray and challenged him. However, Bully Ray responded by insulting Laraque and calling him a clown.
Laraque informed Bully Ray that he had already lost, but Bully Ray fired back by informing Laraque that Impact Wrestling would be taking place in Montreal in April and he had reserved a seat for him.
One can't help but speculate if a potential showdown between the two has already been arranged for the Montreal event. While McCarty has a couple years' experience, there is no indication that Laraque has any prior experience in this field. If he plans to participate, it would be wise for him to practice taking some falls through tables now, as that's likely where this whole thing is headed.
