Patrice Bergeron is coming off of winning his fifth Frank J. Selke trophy. He is also coming off of elbow surgery. That made the 36-year-old (almost 37) pending unrestricted free-agent's decision of what to do next season even more difficult. But it looks like he's finally made a decision.
The Boston Bruins really lack depth at the centre position. After Patrice Bergeron their current centres are Erik Haula and Charlie Coyle. So the Bruins were really banking on Bergeron deciding to return. Fortunately for them it looks like their captain is going to come back for one more year.
The Bruins only have about $2.5 million in cap space so I expect Bergeron's deal to be team friendly. It's a huge relief for the Bruins who got their answer from Bergeron before the Draft and Free-Agency. Next on the list for Don Sweeney is to find a new Head Coach.
