Maple Leafs forward Zach Aston-Reese hits 1st overall pick Juraj Slafkovsky from behind
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens are currently playing a preseason game in Toronto. With so few preseason games remaining teams and players are looking to make a final impression. One of the players looking to make an impression is Zach Aston-Reese.
Aston-Reese is currently playing on a professional tryout trying to secure a contract for this season. One thing that sets ZAR apart from others is his physical play. Physical play is something that has been lacking for the Leafs so ZAR knows how to make an impact.
With that physical play sometimes comes situations where a player crosses the line. Midway through the 3rd period ZAR tried to close a gap and he ended up hitting Juraj Slafkovsky from behind.
On the play ZAR received 2 minutes for boarding, which he clearly felt was undeserved. Surprisingly there was no physical response from the Canadiens as their top prospect took this hit.
