Max Domi is ejected after attacking Tyson Jost, after Jost hits Patrick Kane from behind
Max Domi certainly takes after his father when it comes to protecting his teammates. Domi has a fire and a passion that can't be rivaled by many in the league. That fiery temper was on full display tonight.
Late in the 3rd period with the puck in front of the Minnesota Wild bench, Tyson Jost lands a dirty hit from behind on Patrick Kane. The hit sent Kane crashing into the boards awkwardly and was going to draw a penalty call.
Unfortunately for Jost, the penalty wasn't enough for Domi who wanted his pound of flesh. After seeing Kane down, Domi rushes over and despite his teammates attempt to stop him, Domi gets hold of Jost. Domi lands some serious shots that send Jost to the ice.
After the fight Kane can be seen telling teammates he tried to stop Domi, but to no avail.
Kane tried holding back Domi because Chicago was going to get a power play out of it, and you can even see Kane saying to his bench: "I tried holding him back."
On the play both Jost and Domi received 5 minutes for fighting. While Jost received 2 minutes for boarding and Domi 2 for instigating. Domi received a game misconduct for his actions on the play as well.
