Michael Bunting signs multi-year deal with Metropolitan Division powerhouse
According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Michael Bunting has signed a three-year contract worth $13.5 million ($4.5 million AAV) with the Carolina Hurricanes.
Bunting, 27, has spent the last two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs after signing with them on the opening day of free agency in 2021. His time in Toronto was fairly successful and has certainly earned a pay raise over the $1.9 million the Maple Leafs gave him.
In 82 games this past season, Bunting had 49 points (23 goals, 26 assists), 103 penalty minutes and was a plus-21. He added two points and 15 penalty minutes in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games, but was suspended for three games for an illegal check to the head on Erik Cernak.
