For the teams that didn't make the playoffs, summer has started early for them. With so much time on their hands, the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators are already looking towards the next hockey season.
Both teams are set to face off in 2 pre-season games in the cities of Twillingate, Newfoundland and Labrador and Elsipogtog First Nation, New Brunswick. Both these cities were the winners of Kraft Hockeyville 2020 and 2021 respectively and with Covid restrictions being lifted, it is now time to give back to both the communities that won the prize of an NHL pre-season game.
In addition to their NHL preseason game, each of the communities also won $250,000 in arena upgrades and $10,000 worth of youth hockey equipment from the NHLPA's Goals & Dreams fund.
