The Montreal Canadiens wasted no time at tonight's NHL Draft. After surprising everyone and selecting Juraj Slafkovsky 1st overall, they go ahead and make a blockbuster trade.
Kirby Dach put up a total of 9 goals and 17 assists last season while Alexander Romanov put up 3 goals and 10 assists. Montreal seems to have won this deal. Only time will tell who really won this trade.
Dach was clearly in need of a fresh start as he'd clearly fallen out of favour with management. Dach should immediately slot in on the top 2 lines with Montreal and give them an opportunity to see how he develops.
