NHL Department of Player Safety has announced a multi-game suspension for Jason Zucker after hit on Nick Cousins

During the second period of last night's game, with the puck long gone, Jason Zucker delivered a dangerous hit to the back of Nick Cousins. The hit sent Cousins crashing into the boards face first, he then fell to the ice in a heap of pain. This hit is everything the NHL is trying to get out of the game.

After the hit Cousins' teammate Gustav Forsling immediately dropped the gloves with Zucker. On the play Zucker was given 5 minutes for fighting, 5 minutes for boarding and a game misconduct, while Forsling received 5 for fighting and 2 minutes for instigating.

Tonight the NHL Department of Player Safety officially announced that they have made the decision to suspend Jason Zucker.

Arizona's Jason Zucker has been suspended for three games for boarding Florida's Nick Cousins.

Given the intent and nature of this hit it's difficult to understand how it is just three games, but once again the league continues to be inconsistent with these rulings.

How do you feel about this suspension?
