NHL Department of Player Safety announces suspension for K'Andre Miller after he spat on Drew Doughty
The New York Rangers hosted the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday night. Late in the first period, Rangers defender K'Andre Miller did one of the most reprehensible things you can do to another player, when he spit on Drew Doughty.
After a brief review, Miller was ejected for spitting in Drew Doughty's face, leaving an already short handed Rangers without one of their defenders. Miller was called in yesterday for a hearing and he issued an apology to Doughty, claiming the incident was entirely accidental.
Today the Department of Player Safety announced the following punishment.
NY Rangers' K'Andre Miller has been suspended for three games for unsportsmanlike conduct on Los Angeles' Drew Doughty.
3 games is an alignment to what previous spitting incidents have received, but it is still probably less than this disgusting act should receive.
