The rematch between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tampa Bay Lightning is underway, and even though it was a blowout victory for Tampa, the game wasn't without drama.
It was announced that Michael Bunting would have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety shortly after last night's game due to a 5-minute major and a game misconduct for a hit to the head on Lightning defender Erik Cernak. Now, the DoPS has made a decision suspending Bunting for 3 games.
I don't know if I agree with the number of games here, however, you can't really argue that that hit was anything but intentional, that's just not true.
This will surely hurt the Leafs in their pursuit to get out of the first round, bunting seems to be another version of Nazem Kadri, costing his team at the worst possible time.
