Nashville Predators place 24-year-old forward previously acquired via trade on waivers
With the expansion of NHL's rosters, it's rare to see a player placed on waivers after the Trade Deadline. Today though the Nashville Predators made the decision to place 24-year-old forward John Leonard on waivers.
The Predators previously acquired Leonard from the San Jose Sharks last summer. The deal sent Leonard and a 3rd round pick to the Predators in exchange for Luke Kunin.
This season Leonard has only played 5 games adding 1 goal. In his career he has played 63 games over 3 seasons. In that time he has scored 5 goals and 11 assists for 16 points. If Leonard clears up waivers he will likely be sent to the American Hockey League.
