After being drafted 11th overall back in 2012 by the Washington Capitals, he was traded to the Nashville Predators in an incredibly one sided trade for Martin Erat.
Since joining the Predators, Forsberg has put up an incredible 429 points in 535 games. Forsberg is the leading point producer from the 2012 draft by 60+ points at the time of writing.
Forsberg is currently having the best season of his career and is a UFA at the end of the season with a currently salary cap of $6,000,000.
With the Nashville Predators currently holding onto the 1st wild card spot in the Western Conference, it seems strange that they would be shopping the teams leading goal scorer, but perhaps they've been in talks about a contract renewal and Forsberg is not interested in resigning. If this is the case, they can definitely receive a large return for Forsberg, so they don't lose him for nothing in the offseason.
Who do you think should take a run at Forsberg?
