New York Rangers top prospect Brennan Othmann has been traded
The New York Rangers drafted Brennan Othmann 16th overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Since his selection the 19-year-old has seized every opportunity presented to him, nearly making the Rangers roster out of training camp. After missing the roster the Rangers demoted Othmann to the Flint Firebirds of the OHL.
In 16 OHL games Othmann has scored 11 goals and added 13 assists. Today though Othmann's career has a Firebird has come to an end as he's been dealt to the Peterborough Petes.
BREAKING: The Petes have acquired @NYRangers first round pick Brennan Othmann from the @FlintFirebirds in exchange for Artem Guryev and three Priority Selection picks The trade sends much needed defensive help to the Firebirds along with multiple draft picks as the Petes receive Othmann. The Petes are expected to contend for the Memorial Cup this season and Othmann should be a very big part of that.
Expect to see Othmann, the physical 19-year-old, in the NHL sooner rather than later.
