Nick Paul absolutely destroys Jack Campbell and himself
The Maple Leafs lost 2-1 last night to the Tampa Bay Lightning, but both teams nearly lost much more than that. Nick Paul attempted to charge the net hard with the puck, looking for his hat trick goal when he collided with Jack Campbell.
The collision left Campbell heavily limping and it left Paul shaken. There were no penalties on the play, despite the collision. Some felt this play should have resulted in a goalie interference call, while others thought Paul was pushed.
Both players remained in the game. I personally believe that Paul took a route that left the contact to be unavoidable, but Colin Blackwell can't put himself in a situation like that, which gives Paul a free pass.
