Panthers make a trade in anticipation of a BIG move
The Florida Panthers and New York Rangers have come to terms on an agreement of a deal. According to Pierre LeBrun the Panthers are sending forward Frank Vatrano to the Rangers in exchange for a 4th round draft pick.
Vatrano has 19 points in 49 games, but this move likely opens up a path for the Panthers to potentially acquire Claude Giroux as they've cleared Vatrano's $2,533,333 cap hit in this deal.
This is likely just a stepping stone for their full deadline plans.
