Patrick Kane shares he'd like to play with two former teammates again, creating some trade deadline speculation
Patrick Kane is projected to be one of the biggest names ever moved at the NHL Trade Deadline. The career Blackhawk is expected to be moved as the team enters into their first rebuild in almost two decades. The rebuild began last season with the trades of Brandon Hagel, Kirby Dach and Alex DeBrincat.
Now with the Hawks sitting 15th overall in the Western Conference it appears as though the rebuild is inevitable. Kane has shared his urge to compete for another Stanley Cup, and that's clearly something the Hawks won't be able to provide him.
During an interview with Scott Powers of The Athletic , Kane shared two former teammates he'd be interested in playing with.
I mean, obviously, it'd be fun to play with Panarin again. It'd be fun to play with (Alex) DeBrincat again.
With the Senators sitting way outside the playoff picture it's unlikely Kane would approve a trade to the Senators, but a deal with the Rangers seems extremely likely. Unfortunately for the Rangers their season hasn't gone as well as last year and they may not be in a position to add at the deadline.
Kane holds complete power with his no movement clause so it will remain very interesting to see when and if he makes his final decision. If Kane is truly looking to capture a Cup his number of options are very limited.
